Finally, update has been released for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (first Galaxy Tab) -- "worldwide".
(as of July 07, 2011).
Yes, I know this news could be so late for others since they've rolled-out the Gingerbread updates in some countries but I just received this update in my location (Philippines).
This is not just a custom update that you usually found on your internet search. It is official! You can now get 2.3.3 Gingerbread upgrade for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 inch GT-P1000! (Mine is a 3G version)
Just update your Samsung Kies application. And plugged-in your Galaxy Tab GT-P1000.
A dialog box will pop-out opting you for firmware upgrade.
Your device must be fully recharged to initialize the update.
So, what's the improvement with this update? I found some new pre-installed application "Donwload", "Pulse" and "Sketch Memo" which is so cool!
In about next week, they would also roll-out 2.3.4:
I hope Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 inch could get Honeycomb in the future.
^_^

nice work..but i still have problems upgrading my device. please help me
ReplyDeleteYou can tell me the specifics. But if you're upgrading to official Honeycomb or Jellybean, expect them no more.
Deletei use galaxy tap 7.0 GT-P1000. when i connected it to the kies no pop up came and i went to firmware upgrade but the message i saw said my version cannot been upgraded. why? am bayo from nigeria
ReplyDeleteThe firmware installed to your GT-P1000 is country-dependent.
DeleteYou can direct install a higher firmware through porting it with . . . i forgot the software . . just refer to this forum for more details -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/
I surrendered my hope on upgrading it to a higher version.
am unable to update it. the pop up to update firmware did not show and i clicked it on kies. the message i saw says my version cannot be upgraded. why?
ReplyDeletemine also the same, it says i have the latest but its 2.2(froyo).
DeleteIf the latest firmware say 2.2 froyo, cannot upgrade. IMHO its mean that the network provider have blocked it.
ReplyDeleteIt should be updating, else visit the store where you've purchased your GT-P1000, they'll take care of updating it with the latest firmware.
